CENTEX 2010 - Central Texas Tang Soo Do Clinic

The first Central Texas Tang Soo Do Clinic (CENTEX 2010) was held on June 26, 2010 from 1pm to 4pm at Round Rock Chasco YMCA.  The objective of the event is to provide an opportunity for students to learn and train together from the San Antonio and Austin area.   The clinic began with Master West recognizing studios participating in the clinic as well as the instructors and black belts supporting the event.  As a group, students in attendance were reminded of Tang Soo Do fundamentals with an opportunity to breakout into smaller groups to work on hyungs.  Subjects taught at the clinic were 3 step sparring techniques, nunchakus, stick fighting, knife self-defense, and breaking.

As a special bonus we also offered a Women’s Self Defense Class.  Ladies received one free ticket if their spouse or child is registered for the clinic.  Those who did not have someone registered for the clinic attended the self defense class for a minimal charge of only $10.  The class focused on teaching practical self defense where ladies can easily walk away in confidence.

At the end of the event, the students in attendance overwhelmingly voiced their desire to have the event again next year.  Great job to everyone who helped make the event a success!  Tang Soo!!
